Leslie J. P. Snadden BVMS MRCVS Clinical Director

Leslie graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. For four years, he worked in mixed practice across Scotland and Northern England, seeing horses and farm animals as well as pets. However, Leslie was keen to return to Glasgow because he loved the city.

He accepted an offer to work at The Veterinary Centre in 1984, having decided to try a small animal practice for a year to see if he liked it - we guess he did! He became a partner of the practice in 1986.

Leslie enjoys working with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and types, as well as getting to know their owners. He particularly enjoys caring for older pets and engaging with the variety of conditions that can often develop in aging pets.

Outside of work, Leslie enjoys a variety of sports, particularly American football and the travails of Raith Rovers Football Club. He also enjoys walking his nine year old Labrador, Miley.

Jessica Martin MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

Jessica graduated from Glasgow University in 2013, and has been practicing as a small animal vet since then. She enjoys the variety of life in general practice, but has specific interests in medicine, ultrasonography and especially enjoys treating rabbits and other small furries! Jessica recently completed a training course in Western Veterinary Acupuncture, which she has incorporated into management of chronic pain cases in practice.

Jessica has a lovely Miniature Poodle called Robbie, and a cheeky Chinchilla called Harris at home. When not at work, she loves being in the great outdoors – trail running and road cycling are her main hobbies, and she enjoys exploring both Scotland and beyond.

Tamsin Livermore MRCVS VetMB BSc (Hons) - Veterinary Surgeon

Tamsin qualified from Cambridge University in 2007, although she took a long route to becoming a vet and she also has a pharmacology degree from Edinburgh University! Gaining experience throughout the UK, Tamsin spent her first five years working in mixed animal practice in the Scottish Highlands and then close to the Welsh border.

After starting a family, Tamsin became a small animal vet and moved to Glasgow in 2012. She is interested in all aspects of veterinary life, but particularly enjoys surgery. She has two small children, but when she gets the chance, Tamsin enjoys hillwalking and eating cake.

Anna Formstone MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

Anna is from Glasgow originally and went to vet school in Edinburgh. After graduating she and her husband volunteered as vets in New Delhi, India for 6 months before moving to the US, where her husband is from. After four very happy years in Boston, they moved back to the UK so that Anna could complete a masters degree at UCL in London.

Anna and her husband recently moved back to Glasgow and are excited to put down roots here. They live in the West End with their cat Morris (who they brought over from Boston) and their new rescue lurcher Phoebe! In her spare time Anna enjoys rock climbing and hill walking.

Amelia Daily MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

Amelia graduated from Glasgow University School of Veterinary Medicine and joined our team last summer. She relocated to the UK from the US state of Indiana six years ago to complete her studies, and we’re really glad she decided to stay!

Amelia is particularly interested in small animal dentistry but enjoys all aspects of general practice life.

Nicola McFadden - Head Vet Nurse

After earning an Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing from Edinburgh Napier in 2017, Nicola has since gained an additional certificate in oral care nursing.

Nicola began to develop a particular interest in the care and wellbeing of senior pets as her own bouncy Labrador, Marley began to age into his senior years. Since joining us at The Veterinary Centre, Nicola has utilisied her skills from a recently completed Physiotherapy course to create our new Senior Clinics!

Part of a busy household, Nicola shares her home with three dogs and a thirteen year old gecko! When she isn’t looking after everyone, Nicola really enjoys movies and videogames.

Liz Maitland - Registered Vet Nurse

Liz qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Telford College, Edinburgh in 2009 and has been working with The Veterinary Centre since 2010. Particularly enjoying consultations, Liz loves building solid relationships with the wide range of clients and small animals that come through our doors each day. Liz also enjoys spending time in theatre where she can apply and continue to develop her nursing skills and experience.

Outside of work, Liz enjoys relaxing and spending time with her friends and family.

Kieran Miller – Registered Vet Nurse

Kieran joined the practice in 2014 and began training as a nurse in 2016. He qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2019. Kieran has also taken on the role of overseeing our in-house lab.

Kieran enjoys interacting with both patients and clients alike. Outside of work, he spends his time walking his crazy Sprocker Spaniel, Albi and has a keen interest in marine biology – which he has a HND qualification in!

Jenni McCallum – Registered Vet Nurse

From a young age, Jenni has been passionate about pursuing a career in animal care and nursing. She completed the Veterinary Care Assistant course at Edinburgh College before moving on to complete the Veterinary Nursing course at SRUC, which she graduated from in the spring of 2019.

She has a lovable Black Labrador called Bella and in her spare time, Jenni enjoys hill walking and getting out with her family.

Lorna MacBride – Student Vet Nurse

Lorna is a third year student vet nurse with SRUC where she has also previously attained an Advanced Certificate in Horse Care. She enjoys caring for the animals that are admitted to the practice or are staying in for surgical procedures.

Lorna also has a special love for equine care and devotes most of her spare time to her beautiful thoroughbred horse, Buzz. When she isn’t at the stables, Lorna enjoys art, cinema and travelling – when she gets the chance!

Lorna is also a fantastic dancer.

Yasmin Flaherty - Student Vet Nurse

Yasmin is a second year student vet nurse with the College of Animal Welfare. Prior to joining the course, Yasmin knew she wanted to work with animals for a long time and volunteered in several vet practices around Glasgow, as well as at Glasgow Vet School, before joining our team on a permanent basis!

When she isn't working at the practice or studying, Yasmin enjoys live music, exploring Glasgow’s many restaurants and travelling abroad. Yasmin shares her home with two lovable Cavachons called April and Nudge.

Tara Patil – Animal Care Assistant

Whilst studying for her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Tara found that it was the animal biology classes which held her key interest. Tara began with us as a volunteer for a short while before later taking a full-time receptionist role. Tara regularly assists the nurses in our in-patient recovery area and hopes to join the Vet Nursing program next year.

In her spare time, Tara loves cooking for friends, hill walking and white wine.

Leanne Auckland – Practice Manager

Leanne took over as  Manager at The Veterinary Centre in April 2016. Having gained her PhD in psychology, Leanne later decided to jump ship to explore a career in management.

Leanne loves animals, but also people. She especially likes supporting and coaching staff, as well as developing the business. It is her job to make sure that the practice runs as smoothly as possible.

When Leanne is not bossing everyone around, she loves art, music, reading and travelling. A keen runner, Leanne has completed many sponsored distance events.  A local Westender, Leanne is often spotted with her pugs, Denzel and Ethel (The Practice Pugs), whom she adores.

Leah Barton – Personal Assistant

Leah began with us as a receptionist in June 2016, and in 2018 she took on a new role as PA to Leanne. Leah handles the practice’s online social media and web content, among other duties. When she isn’t fawning over animals, she enjoys reading, writing, brunch and wine (but not always all at once.)

She also studies English Literature and Creative Writing, but continues to work at The Veterinary Centre to fund her studies (and her lifestyle).

Ellie Young – Receptionist

Ellie recently joined our reception team in the Spring of 2019 where she is able to pursue both her love of animals, whilst also utilising her degree in Media and Communications to help develop our marketing and media.

When she’s not in the practice, Ellie enjoys spending time with friends, seeing live music gigs and hanging out with her Golden Retriever, Archie.

Zoë Hodkinson – Receptionist

Having completed her MA in History at Bangor University in North Wales, Zoë relocated to the equally rainy city of Glasgow. Zoë loves working around animals -especially rabbits and cats– as she is the (very) proud owner of 3 cats: Oban, Effie and Aegytha, and a beautiful but naughty rabbit called Angus.

When she is not fussing over animals at reception, Zoë is a folk musician and songwriter, and enjoys playing live gigs both in Glasgow and her home-city of Manchester. She can also be found reading the Penguin classics and beating our other receptionist, Ellie, at Scrabble!

Maddie Beautyman - Receptionist

Maddie has just finished her MA in Writing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, before which, she studied Theatre Studies at Glasgow University.

Maddie has pet chickens at home, as well as a ragdoll cat and a miniature daschund puppy called Pip. So when she’s not in the practice, she’s writing for stage, screen or radio, or petting one of her many pets.
